Aug 08, 2023Leave a message

Laminated nonwovens can be classified based on the type of lamination technique used or the materials used for lamination. Based on the lamination technique, laminated nonwovens can be classified into: 1. Adhesive lamination: In this technique, a layer of adhesive is applied between two nonwoven layers to bond them together. 2. Thermal lamination: In this technique, heat is used to melt a thermoplastic material which is coated on one or both sides of the nonwoven layers to bond them. 3. Ultrasonic lamination: In this technique, high-frequency vibrations are used to bond two nonwoven layers together without using any adhesive or heat. Based on the materials used for lamination, laminated nonwovens can be classified into: 1. Film laminated nonwovens: In this type of laminated nonwoven, a thin film of plastic is applied to one or both sides of the nonwoven to provide barrier properties against water, dust, or other substances. 2. Foil laminated nonwovens: In this type of laminated nonwoven, a thin sheet of aluminum foil is applied to one or both sides of the nonwoven to provide barrier properties against heat, light, or moisture. 3. Foam laminated nonwovens: In this type of laminated nonwoven, a layer of foam is applied between two nonwoven layers to provide cushioning and insulation properties. 4. Coated laminated nonwovens: In this type of laminated nonwoven, a layer of coating material is applied to one or both sides of the nonwoven to provide additional properties such as water resistance, flame retardancy, or anti-static properties.
